Interpal’s one-to-one Sponsorship Programme aims to provide essential aid, as well as moral support to the most vulnerable in Palestinian society. A small monthly income is provided to around 6,700 Palestinian orphans, 800 needy children, and 75 poor families.

Although the distribution of food parcels, housing aid and other essential resources form an integral part of Interpal’s work, the need for basic financial assistance cannot be underestimated. This helps Palestinians in need cover the most basic day to day requirements, such as a regular electricity supply and running water.

The beneficiaries of such aid are very grateful for the help they receive from strangers, which gives them hope and assures them that they are not forgotten. Little gifts, letters or photographs from sponsors are often a source of immense pride and pleasure to the sponsored individuals, and many Interpal sponsors also derive a great deal of pleasure in being able to help a people in need.

During these turbulent times the needs of a child are the same whether that child is an orphan or a member of an impoverished family. Interpal has thus expanded its Sponsorship Programme to include the disabled and those children whose families are unable to provide for them due to imprisonment, injury, illness, disability or unemployment.

Once you become a sponsor, we will provide you with an annual progress report and we encourage contact between you and your sponsored child by translating and forwarding your letters.
